The Image Quiz is a high-engagement template where a large image is slowly revealed tile-by-tile. It challenges students to identify the subject as quickly as possible before answering a multiple-choice question.

How the Game is Played
A hidden image is slowly uncovered pixel by pixel or tile by tile.
Once a student thinks they recognise the image, they press the Buzzer.
The reveal pauses, and the student must select the correct answer from a list of options.
Points are awarded for correct answers, with speed being a major factor. Students can review their performance and check the leader board at the end.
Creating your Image Quiz
-
Click Create Activity and select Image Quiz.
Type your question or prompt into the box at the top of the editor.
Upload or search for the image that will be hidden behind the tiles. This is the primary clue for the question.
-
Provide at least 2 and up to 6 options (labelled A through F).
Check the box next to the correct answer so the system can grade it.
Optional: You can also add small images to the answer choices themselves!
Click Add a question or press Enter to add the next item to your quiz.
-
Click Done to save.
-
Scroll down to Visual style to add a creative style to your activity, or tailor the difficulty in the Options panel below the activity:
-
Image reveal speed
- Set a time limit for how quickly the hidden picture tiles peel back or fully reveal themselves to the student. In the screenshot, this countdown rate is configured to 0 minutes and 30 seconds.
-
Points per question
- Use the slider to determine the base score value awarded to a student for submitting a correct answer. In the screenshot, this value is set to 5 points.
-
Lives
- Drag the slider to set a maximum number of allowed mistakes before triggering a Game Over. In the screenshot, this is set to Unlimited, which gives students endless attempts to complete the full quiz deck.
-
Random
- Shuffle question order: If checked, this randomises the sequence of the quiz items so they appear in a completely different order on every single attempt (unchecked/disabled in the screenshot).
- Automatically proceed after marking: When enabled, the game instantly transitions to the next item the moment a question is submitted and graded.
-
End of game
- Show answers: Allows students to review a breakdown of all correct visual matches and choices at the conclusion of their quiz session.
-
Layout
- Image and answers on separate pages: Displays the reveal prompt in an isolated window phase before loading the corresponding answer choice tiles on a secondary screen view.
- Image and answers together: Positions the question image directly alongside or above the answer choice selections on the exact same page layout.
-
