The Higher or Lower template is an engaging "streak-based" game where students must compare values. The goal is to predict whether the next item in a sequence has a value that is higher or lower than the current one.

How the activity is played?
The game presents a series of tiles.
The Choice: The student looks at the current item and its value, then decides if the hidden "next" tile is higher or lower.
The Streak: If they guess correctly, the new item is revealed, and they continue to the next one.
The End: The game continues until an incorrect guess is made or the sequence is completed. On the final screen, students can review their accuracy and submit their scores to the leaderboard.
Creating your Higher or Lower activity
Click Create Activity and choose Higher or Lower.
-
Type the name of the item in the text box.
Crucial Step: Assign a numerical value to each item in the "Value" field. This is the data the game uses to determine which is "Higher."
Optional: Add an image for each item to make the tiles more visual.
Click Add an item or press Enter to create at least two items (though 5–10 items make for a better game).
-
Click Done to save.
Customization options
-
After saving, scroll down to the Options panel to adjust the gameplay:
Timer: Set a countdown to make the decisions feel more high-stakes.
Lives: Decide how many "strikes" a student gets before the game is over.
Randomize Order: Every time the game starts, the items will be shuffled into a different sequence.
