The Categorize template is a flexible, open-ended tool designed for sorting and classification. Unlike many other templates, this is a discussion-based activity with no "right" or "wrong" validation from the system, making it perfect for brainstorming and open exploration.

How the activity is played
The game presents a set of unsorted items and a series of designated category areas.
The interaction: The user simply clicks and drags the items into the different category buckets.
Open-ended design: Because there are no pre-set "correct" answers in this template, it does not generate a score or a leaderboard. It is intended to be used as a visual aid during live lessons or for student-led sorting practice.
Creating your Categorize activity
Click Create Activity and choose Categorize.
-
Create your headings first (e.g., "Living Things" and "Non-Living Things").
Click Add a category if you need more than two.
-
Add your items:
Type the text or upload an image for the items that need to be sorted.
Click Add an item or press Enter to keep building your list.
-
Click Done to save your activity.
-
Since this activity is open-ended, the Options panel below the game allows you to adjust the visual presentation:
Layout: Change how the category buckets are arranged on the screen.
Theme: Select a background and font style that fits your subject matter.
Item size: Adjust the size of the tiles to ensure they fit comfortably within your categories.
